Pray for Ourselves: (Colossians 3:1-2) “If you then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sits on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” Do your affections and priorities often revolve around people and things more than Jesus? Are you more passionate about earthly things rather than spiritual things? Do you honestly get more excited about work, sports or recreation than about God’s kingdom? To what or to whom do you devote the majority of your thoughts and energies? Is Christ central in all your priorities, or does He occupy only a small corner of your thoughts and plans? If many of your thoughts are undisciplined and earth centered, immediately confess this to God and ask Him to transform your mind. By God’s grace, you can change your desires and thoughts! Write down specific ways you need to set your desires and thoughts on Jesus.

Pray for our Valley: (1 Timothy 2:1-4) I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone— 2 for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. 3 This is good, and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. Pray for all of our city leaders both in San Jacinto and Hemet. Pray that they would do their duties on behalf of all citizens and have servant like attitudes. As the passage above suggests, pray also for their salvation.

Pray for our Nation: (1 Timothy 2 from above.) Pray for all three Branches of our Federal Government. Pray as the Apostle Paul suggests in 1st Timothy. Pray that Congress and the President and his Cabinet would work together for the common good and not just according to party lines. Our current crisis with terrorism demands this. Pray that the Supreme Court would truly up hold the Constitution of the United States of America.

Pray for our World: ( Isaiah 60:1-3) Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD rises upon you 2 See, darkness covers the earth and thick darkness is over the peoples, but the LORD rises upon you and his glory appears over you. 3 Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn. Pray for Israel because this prophecy is for them and the way in which God intended for the Messiah to come through them and to the rest of the world. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, that Israelites would recognize Jesus as their Messiah and be saved. Pray that all the countries surrounding them would have a good gospel witness and that many of those peoples would come to Christ. Pray that Palestinians would come to Christ as there is a remnant of believers still among them, though they are being horribly persecuted for Christ’s sake.
