Let’s continue our prayer together around this Valley of ours.

10days

Prayer for Ourselves: (2 Corinthians 10:5)  – “Casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.”  Carefully and honestly reflect on the type of thoughts that occupy your mind. Is your mind filled with thoughts of Christ or consumed with earthly issues? Do you think far more about work or recreation than spiritual growth and serving Christ? Are you often filled with unclean thoughts? Are you plagued with fearful or angry thoughts? Write down any sinful thought pattern God brings to your attention. For each one, ask God’s forgiveness and trust Him to renew your mind (Romans 12:2). Resolve to take every thought captive to the Lordship of Christ. What specific thoughts should replace the ones that are worldly?

Prayer for our Valley:  (2 Peter 3:9) – “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

Pray that everyone who lives in our San Jacinto Valley, who does not yet know Christ as their Savior and Lord, will clearly hear the gospel from us and be wonderfully born again. Pray for the Billy Graham outreach between Thanksgiving and Christmas again this year to be successful. Pray that believers throughout this valley will be trained in their churches to share Christ with their family, neighbors, co-workers, fellow students and friends.

Pray for our Nation:  (Matthew 12:25) “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand. Pray for unity among all believers here in America. Pray that revival would sweep across our nation from coast to coast and that Christians would be a force to be reckoned with both for morality and justice and for the spread of the gospel throughout our great nation before the Return of the LORD.

Pray for the World: (Revelation 5:9) “And they sang a new song:  “You are worthy to take the scroll  and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased men for God  from every tribe and language and people and nation.” This is a scene in Heaven at the end of the age. It implies the martyrdom of millions of believers on earth coming to Heaven because of their faith in Christ. Pray for the thousands of martyrs right now per month throughout the world. The heaviest concentration now is in the Middle East. Pray also for thousands more who are being thrown into prisons or are under house arrest because they are leaders in the cause of Christ.
