Stepping In: Getting things started!
1- Go around the room and take turns quickly answering the following questions. Take them one at a time.
- What did you want to be when you grew up?
- What’s your favorite thing to do?
- What’s something no one here knows about you?
- How would you describe your life right now?
2 – Get out the map. Take turns by starting with your place of birth and drawing a line to each placed you’ve lived. If you lived outside of the USA, draw a line in its direction, then write it on the map.
Building Up: What is God Saying?
For this introductory week, we’re just going to look at this one verse: Read Acts 17:11.
1 – What might be some of the differences between “reading” and “examining” your Bible? What have you tried that was helpful?
2 – What are some ways studying your Bible could make a difference in your daily life? Come up with some specific scenarios.
3 – The Bereans had “great eagerness” to examine the Scriptures. What would make you more excited and eager to study your Bible? What might erode our eagerness?
Living Out: How do I obey?
1- What’s your next step to be more consistent and eager to study your Bible?
2 – Why is it important for us to study TOGETHER as a LifeGroup? What benefits are their when we study the Word of God with others?
