Be known for what we’re FOR

Donnie Criswell, our new Family Pastor, did a great job with a difficult passage in 1 Peter 2. What I really appreciated was his take on making sure our good works do the talking.

It’s easy to argue politics or issues or values…but showing people a better way to do life will always speak the most clearly.

I loved this quote Donnie used from Jeff Henderson, “We shouldn’t be know for what we are against, let us be people who are known for what we are for.”

This whole concept is seen in full living color in these two verses…

“For it is God’s will that by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish people.”  “To this you were called, because Christ suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps.” (1 Peter 2:15, 21 NIV)
