He said what? (Part 2)

Monday we talked about our need to GO if we’re going to be obedient to Jesus’ command. Now read the Great Commission again:
“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 NIV)
After telling us to GO and MAKE DISCIPLES…Jesus tells us to BAPTIZE them.
What’s the big deal with baptism? Like a public wedding ceremony, it’s where we share our vows with God and declare Jesus as Lord.
The imagery of our baptism is so powerful. Remember, we’re not saved because we get wet, but because of what Jesus did for us, and our baptism visualizes what Jesus did!
“Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.” (Romans 6:3-4 NIV)
