Peace

“And he awoke and rebuked the wind and said to the sea, ‘Peace! Be still!’ And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.” (Mark 4:39  ESV)

The calm lake in the picture was nothing like the Sea of Galilee before Jesus calmed the storm, but after He commanded the storm to end…I suppose it resembled our peaceful little Lake Fulmor.

More than calming the raging storm on the lake, Jesus gives us peace. Before His arrest and crucifixion He told His disciples that He was giving them His peace. When He showed up after His resurrection, His first words were “Peace be with you.” (Luke 24:36)

Whatever you’re going through, no matter how difficult, Jesus’ peace is as close as He is…and He’s as close as you’ll let Him.
