“THEIR FAITH”

Jesus winds up healing a paralyzed man, but only after he again ruffled the feathers of the religious elite. Yes, Jesus had the power to heal, and He did just that, but first He forgave the man.

“Who can forgive people accept God?” Good question. Jesus again answered it with the miracle that would follow.

However, the thing that always catches my eye in this story are the friends of the man. You know, the friends that let the dude down through a hole they made in the roof. These guys knew their friend’s life would forever change if they could just get him to Jesus. (Read that last sentence again.)

The text says… “When Jesus saw THEIR FAITH…” The friends had the faith that Jesus took note of and then turned to forgive and heal their friend.

Are you going to be the kind of a friend who will do whatever it takes to bring your friends to Jesus? After all, their life will never be the same!

“Some men brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, ‘Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.’” (Matthew 9:2 NIV)
