What would you do?

What would you do?

In my daily reading I recently came across this story in 2 Kings 7. It always intrigues me on several levels.

First of all, there’s a famine that is so severe because an enemy army from Aram has blocked off all supplies from the town. However, God did a GOD THING and made the Arameans run for their lives…leaving all of their food and supplies.

The first people to discover this were four lepers. They actually were so hungry they decided to go to the enemy camp and ask for food. They figured the worst that could happen is they’ll kill us…and we’re about to die anyway.

When they get there, they discover all the food and supplies. They’re enjoying what they found and then they say something quite profound:

“What we’re doing is not right. This is a day of good news and we are keeping it to ourselves. If we wait until daylight, punishment will overtake us. Let’s go at once and report this to the royal palace.” (2 Kings 7:9 NIV)

We all of something worth sharing. We all have something that is so amazing we’d be simply selfish to keep it to ourselves. What is it???

The Good News of Jesus! Who are you going to tell today?
