Who are you bringing?
There are just four weekends between us and Easter weekend. With that in mind I want to spend a little time talking about the significance of Easter for our church.
We’ve all seen and experienced the growing interest in Jesus and His Church in the last few years. Gen Z is leading the way as young people are buying Bibles in record numbers. This is amazing news.
However, in case you don’t follow all the stats and surveys like I try to do, let me tell you…we still have a LONG WAY to go! Here’s a reality check I didn’t see because I was watching our recent growth…
2000-74% of Americans said faith was central in their lives.
2025-54% of Americans said faith was central in their lives.
Even with the recent surge and feel of “awakening” in America, we’re still loosing ground over all.
What does this have to do with Easter??? It’s simple really, like Christmas, Easter is a time people DO want to come to a church service. They’re waiting to be invited!!!
According to different studies, around 80% of Americans said they would go to an Easter service if invited by a friend.
So, get out your TOP FIVE LIST…add some names to it. (Right now I have a TOP ELEVEN LIST.) Start doing these three things immediately:
1-PRAY (Pray for them by name every day.)
2-BE A FRIEND (Listen, hang out, serve them…)
3-BRING A FRIEND (Start inviting them to Easter now!…Don’t wait till the last minute.)
Like Andrew…all of us can bring someone to Jesus!
“The first thing Andrew did was to find his brother Simon and tell him, ‘We have found the Messiah’ (that is, the Christ). And he brought him to Jesus.” (John 1:41-42 NIV)
