Do you have this?

Do you have this?

Do you have the kind of love described in Paul’s message to the church of Corinth?

Used at countless weddings, this passage isn’t about marriage. I’m not saying it shouldn’t be used at the public vow-sharing celebration of love, it’s just not why it was written.

Paul writes these timeless words because the church in Corinth was all about the gifts and not about the reason behind the gifts.

Time for self-evaluation today. Read through this list a couple of times and see where you need to ask God for help:

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NIV)
