We’re in this together

As Michelle’s sister has gotten worse, and yet closer to a new liver, my wife has been amazing. She drives out every week to take care of Tracy. In between those trips we’ve had some time to go and “adventure” together. These moments have become even more important than normal.

There are a lot of ways we “partner” together in this life. This is a unique season, but one where I must do everything I can to help her. She needs hope, encouragement and strength. All of these I want to give her.

Does someone in your family right now need some extra help? Do you have a good friend who’s really “going through it” right now? How can you honor them and give honor to your Lord as you help them?

“In the same way, you husbands must give honor to your wives. Treat your wife with understanding as you live together. She may be weaker than you are, but she is your equal partner in God’s gift of new life. Treat her as you should so your prayers will not be hindered.” (1 Peter 3:7 NLT)

He is not far!

While explaining God to those who’d never heard of Him, Paul makes sure they know that He is more than just our Creator. Our God wants a relationship with us. He is not distant or uninterested. He is NEAR!

“The God who made the world and everything in it, this Master of sky and land, doesn’t live in custom-made shrines or need the human race to run errands for him, as if he couldn’t take care of himself. He makes the creatures; the creatures don’t make him. Starting from scratch, he made the entire human race and made the earth hospitable, with plenty of time and space for living so we could seek after God, and not just grope around in the dark but actually find him. He doesn’t play hide-and-seek with us. He’s not remote; he’s near.” (Acts 17:24-28 MSG)

Take Your Job Up A Notch!

Whatever your boss is like, whoever is on your team, and no matter the circumstances, you have ONE BOSS to always keep in mind.

Is your work ethic reflecting your bigger view of what’s at stake? This isn’t about the specifics of your job, but it is about how you do what you do.

As we start another week, let’s be reminded of our higher calling. No matter the pressure or threats or pain you may experience, the Message of Christ needs to shine through you!

“Meanwhile, live in such a way that you are a credit to the Message of Christ. Let nothing in your conduct hang on whether I come or not. Your conduct must be the same whether I show up to see things for myself or hear of it from a distance. Stand united, singular in vision, contending for people’s trust in the Message, the good news, not flinching or dodging in the slightest before the opposition. Your courage and unity will show them what they’re up against: defeat for them, victory for you—and both because of God. There’s far more to this life than trusting in Christ. There’s also suffering for him. And the suffering is as much a gift as the trusting. You’re involved in the same kind of struggle you saw me go through, on which you are now getting an updated report in this letter.” (Philippians 1:27-30 MSG)

Another weekend is here at Community! Time for another worship experience!!

Are you ready to Worship? Pray? Encourage? Laugh? Support? Serve? Love?

Do you even laugh bro?

I like to laugh, and I love being around people who like to laugh. There’s something very healing about laughter. In fact, there are times when a little laughter is the only way to get through some of those painful moments in life.

There are things to take seriously, but there are times to not be so serious. Loosen up a bit. It might just be the best thing you do all day. Then, when it comes time for some serious work, you’re ready to go.

Homework: Grab a friend or two and go have some fun. 

By the way, does this sound unspiritual? I think it is very spiritual. I’m sure Jesus has some great moments with His posse!
