You First

Our two-word prayer for this week is again simple, and yet powerful. “YOU FIRST.”

If you’re bold enough to pray this prayer, you are in essence saying, “God, You are FIRST over everything in my life.” So, as you pray “YOU FIRST, think through these areas of your life:

• What does it mean for God to be first in your marriage, family or other key relationships?
• What does it look like for God to be first in your finances?
• What needs to happen for God to be first in your thought life?
• What would you do and how would others be blessed if God were first in your work life?
• How might your free time change if God were truly first?
• Who needs to be in on helping you answer these questions?

“For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:21 NIV)

The Past & The Future

On November 18-19 all of us at Community will be making 4 huge commitments for the next two years.

     Every Day With Jesus

     Practical Love

     Intentional Ministry

     Comprehensive Investment

On that same weekend, while we bring our commitment cards, we also want to bring a very special offering. This offering should reflect two very important perspectives.

First, it should reflect a serious level of gratitude for what God has done in our lives. I told you last weekend that 1,433 people have been baptized in our Worship Center since we occupied it in early 2004. Maybe you’re especially grateful for what He has done in your life right here at Community during this exciting time. Bottom line, our gifts should say THANK YOU for what God has brought you through and how He has used this place to provide you a family.

Finally, our special offering should also be focused on the future. Who’s next? Who’s your ONE you’ve been praying for at 1:11pm every day? What child and their family will be impacted as our new Children’s Building is completed and functioning? The future is exciting and I can’t wait to see what God is going to do through all of us. And remember, it will take ALL OF US if we want to see something miraculous!

Please be planning on and praying for your part in this special offering.

“But since you excel in everything—in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in the love we have kindled in you—see that you also excel in this grace of giving.” (2 Corinthians 8:7 NIV)

Absolutely Amazing!

This past weekend was redonkulous! It was such a great start to our “BETTER…Because Normal Isn’t Working” series.

We’re already getting such great feedback on this series, and Sunday’s lunch was such a perfect time to hang out and talk, laugh and enjoy the FAMILY.

A huge thank you to all of you who came early and stayed late to set up, serve, tear down and pretty much anything that was needed. So impressed by the heart and attitudes of all who were serving on this special weekend.

Two-word Prayers

A week ago we started praying “I’m Yours.” Then this past weekend I invited you to start praying “Use Me!”

If two words aren’t enough, here are a few suggestions:

     USE ME…today!

     USE ME…however You want!

     USE ME…to be a light in this Valley!

I could give you more, but the reason we’re praying JUST those two words is that it doesn’t put any boundaries or limits on God’s plan. So…just pray: USE ME!

“But my life is worth nothing to me unless I use it for finishing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus—the work of telling others the Good News about the wonderful grace of God.” (Acts 20:24 NLT)

4…3…2…FUN!

This weekend is going to be special at Community! We’re kicking off our new series, “BETTER…Because Normal Isn’t Working.” And, we’re doing it in style. It’s not normal to serve everyone lunch after the last service, but that’s how we roll.

Pasta, salad and bread, along with jumpies for the kids should make for a memorable and not too normal kinda day!

The elementary age children will be joining us in big church this weekend so they can get in on the ground floor of something truly unique. (There is still children’s ministries for birth—Kindergarten…because we have to have some normality.)

Bottom line: You don’t want to miss this weekend at Community.
