Capture the Moment

There is a certain beauty and sense of creativity with every sunset. Of course there are similarities, but each one has it’s own unique flair and personality. Trying to capture the essence of this colorful moment is pretty much impossible. Pictures don’t ever seem to do it justice, but I’ll keep trying anyway.

“That’s how God’s Word vaults across the skies from sunrise to sunset, Melting ice, scorching deserts, warming hearts to faith.” (Psalm 19:6 MSG)

In life there are key moments. We may not be able to fully describe their impact on our lives, but we try. The moments I’m talking about are the ones where God shows up. He reveals a part of Himself. He whispers in your ear. He gives new light and direction to an old problem that’s been your nemesis for some time.

With each God moment, it’s a key opportunity to draw even closer to Him. It’s a time to trust Him into the next adventure. 

The next time He paints the sky for you…check it out. The next time He whispers…listen!

It’s Happening!!!

We are now just WEEKS away from breaking ground on our all new Children’s Building! This building will do much more than transform the corner of our property, it will be a center for changed lives and families. 

Just think. We’ll have the opportunity to connect with hundreds (and thousands) of children as we challenge, inspire, love and introduce them to Jesus.

“Then Jesus called for the children and said to the disciples, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children.” (Luke 18:16 NLT)

Please take a moment and spend some time in prayer for the launch of this project and the effectiveness of our ministry to the many children in this Valley.

So That The World Will Believe

Rodney King asked the critical question, “Can’t we all just get along?!?!”

When Christians don’t get along, our message of love and peace and hope is, at best, confusing. People need to see and experience a unity that only comes from people who’ve been so transformed by God’s grace, they are actually graceful to others.

A week ago a few hundred people from different churches in our Valley got together at a local park to worship, enjoy each others company and hear what God’s word says about the importance of our unity. It was a great night.

“I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. And may they be in us so that the world will believe you sent me.” (John 17:21 NLT)

Our unity is not just to reduce our stress and make us happier. It’s a critical aspect of our SHOWING the world that those who follow Jesus are for real, and the message is worth listening too.

Take a moment and pray for some other churches in the Valley besides Community. When one part of the Body grows…we ALL WIN!

Get ‘er Done!

Not everything significant at our church happens on the weekends. One of the reasons Community has experienced some great seasons of ministry is because we have a whole bunch of people who are willing to serve…whatever the task. They see needs and meet them, even if it costs them time, money, energy or convenience.

Joni is our office administrative assistant. She brings that “get ‘er done” mentality and servant’s heart to the office each and every day. She is a great example of Jesus’ words in Matthew 20:

“But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve others and to give his life as a ransom for many.” (Matthew 20:26-28 NLT)

Our parking lot planters needed more attention than they were getting. So, Joni, willing to do whatever it takes, has now started to do a few of them every week. Then, she goes to work.

Do you see a need? No matter how small or trivial, be willing to roll up your sleeves and make a difference. You may not make the blog, but God will see and bless your servant’s heart!

We’re in this TOGETHER!

The 3-Day Experience for our Middle and High Schoolers has just simply been amazing! The first night it was water games night.

Bottom line, they’re not just having fun, they’re creating friendships. They’re laughing together, worshipping together and learning together. After all, that’s how God wanted His family to function…together.

“You were all called to travel on the same road and in the same direction, so stay together, both outwardly and inwardly. You have one Master, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who rules over all, works through all, and is present in all. Everything you are and think and do is permeated with Oneness.” (Ephesians 4:4-6 MSG)

Each night has been unique and powerful.

Please keep praying for the decisions being made and the lives being changed. The last night is tonight from 5-8pm. It’s TALENT SHOW NIGHT! And…it’s going to be epic!!
