I’ll be back!

You probably noticed, if you were at or watched one of our weekend services, I wasn’t around. There’s never a great time to be sick, but fortunately Donnie was already set to teach this weekend. 

I even got dressed Sunday morning, and then thought better or it. I have some sort of bug and thought it best in this instance…not to be generous! You’re welcome.

I don’t feel bad, just a little off and a little tired. I appreciate the prayers and hopefully I’ll see you all again this coming weekend!

What would you add?

I love our church family. I love connecting, encouraging, and just being around the people who call Community their home. I’ve been reflecting, having wrapped up 35 years at this church, why it means so much to me.

I have my own list. There may be some similar things on all of our lists of what makes Community special, but take a few moments and do your own reflecting. What would you add to your list? Then, take another moment and thank our Father for the blessing of a church family.

“Together, we are his house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus himself. We are carefully joined together in him, becoming a holy temple for the Lord.”  (Ephesians 2:20-21 NLT)

The River of Life

At times Jesus is cryptic in the use of parables or teaching. The powerful truths He shared were not always understood. However, here’s one that we all can understand today.

As a believer, we are filled with the Holy Spirit. God’s personal power comes to work in and through us in some pretty amazing ways.

Here, Jesus reminds us all of this promise, this hope, this help. The very next verse in John 7 tells us He is talking about the Holy Spirit.

On the last and greatest day of the festival, Jesus stood and said in a loud voice, “Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”  (John 7:37-38 NIV)

Are YOU Next?

In our weekend services at Community, we celebrated with 26 people who were baptized as they said YES to Jesus!!!

It was simply amazing. Each ONE is significant and so we celebrated everyone of them as they took the plunge.

You may be reading this and thinking, I’d like to do that, but I missed it. NO YOU DIDN’T! We will do baptisms in any service, any weekend. If you’re ready, just let me know: john@community.cc. We’ll get you set up!

What are you EXCITED about?

With a camera in my hand, I’m most excited when the sky explodes in color with another epic sunset. But here’s something that’s even better…

The very best thing is watching someone grab ahold of Jesus for the very first time and fully commit their life to Him. I would add the moment someone returns to Jesus after walking away for a season of their life is pretty special. Either way…now infused with His grace…they are a NEW CREATION! It doesn’t get any better than that.

This weekend at Community is BAPTISM WEEKEND. You don’t want to miss this!!
