Where does my HOPE come from? Part 3
Pain and suffering is a part of life. Jesus even said, “In this life you will have trouble.” Our hope, however, helps us see past the temporary and focus on the eternal. Hope helps us weather the storms that come our way. Why? Because we know that God is up to something…something real good!
You may be hurting right now, but I have good news: GOD IS STILL WORKING in you and in your situation. You and I have a choice when life hurts: We can focus on the pain or focus on the hope.
When I focus on the hope, God is able to continue to build and refine me. I’m able to be used for His purposes. I’m able to see His hand at work!
“In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” (1 Peter 1:6-9 NIV)
