How do you put into words what we experienced this weekend?

God is on the move!!

Yes, we set a weekend record with 3,249 people in person, but what I was most excited about was watching 96 people surrender their lives to Jesus and get baptized!!!

Aside from the numbers…there was a very real sense of the hunger of people to connect with God in a real way. The entire weekend was simply electric!

Let’s pray the months ahead will be filled with anticipation for the work of God’s Spirit in and through the people who call Community home.

A HUGE THANK YOU to all of our CHANGE MAKERS who went above and beyond making sure every person who came onto our property was greeted and cared for with love and intention. You are amazing. Again…THANK YOU!

Also a HUGE THANK YOU to all of our BAND & TECH TEAM. SIX total services (five on Sunday) and you knocked it out of the park! Amazing!

Our first Easter service was last night…and what a night it was!

God is on the move and we are seeing it right here at Community.

Keep praying for our FIVE Sunday services this weekend: 7:00, 8:30, 10:00, 11:30am and 1:00pm.

Will you pray for these things…specifically?

Easter is here! Our first service is tomorrow night…so it’s time to pray. Here are a handful of prayer prompts to get you going. Please commit to pray through this list each day throughout the rest of this week.

1-Soften MY heart. Before you pray for anyone or anything else. Ask God to speak to you in a fresh new way, even if the story of the resurrection of Jesus is one you know very well.

2-Use me…and others. For all of you who are Change Makers, please know how valuable you are. You may be the very first person someone interacts with. Actually, whether you’re on one of our Change Maker teams or not, if Community is your church…you have a huge part in helping someone feel at HOME. Ask God to reveal to you those you can help have a great experience.

3-Remove the excuses. Many have been invited. The devil will do all he can to throw excuses into people’s lives over the weekend. Let’s pray against that…and ask for God to open eyes, hearts and lives up to the power of His Gospel!

4-Open hearts to respond. We will be offering people the opportunity to “step in” to a relationship with Jesus and get baptized. Let’s all be praying for people to say YES to Jesus!

5-Help people connect to their NEXT STEPS. We want people to say YES to Jesus…but that is only the beginning. We are asking people, challenging people to follow Jesus…to be a disciple. Their next several steps are critical. They can take Next Step, which will be April 12 at the 10am service. They can sign up for a Rooted or LifeGroup. And of course…they can follow up by coming to our worship service the next week.

It’s Time!

Our first Easter Service is THIS THURSDAY! Then we’ll have five services on Resurrection Sunday!!

We’ve been praying, planning, inviting…and now it’s time.

Here are a few things you need to know:

1-Change Makers (volunteers) need to park in the High School parking lot on Thursday & Sunday. You can enter it on Stanford. This allows our parking lot some space for all of our guests. Thank you for doing this!

2-Ramp up the prayers. In fact, stop right now and prayer for our services, everyone God will be bringing to us and all those who will make a decision to follow Jesus and get baptized this weekend.

3-Arrive early. If you’re checking in kids, just know it might take longer than usual with all the people who may not be as familiar with the system.

4-We’re moving our CAFE. It will be in the “patio” area between the worship center and the student center. This allows more space for hanging out and connecting between services.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20 NIV)

What if I can’t answer their questions?

Over the years I’ve heard the same hesitation to sharing our faith over and over. It’s usually some version of this: What if they ask me questions I can’t answer?

The truth is, there are some tough questions, even for people who’ve studied their whole life. The Bible doesn’t say we have to answer every question about our God, but we do need to be WITNESSES of what He’s done in our life.

One of my favorite pictures of this occurs in John 9 as Jesus heals a blind man. The man, now able to see, is being questioned over and over by the religious leaders. They accuse Jesus of being a “sinner” and the man’s response is priceless.

It’s more than priceless though, it’s a reminder of how we can share Jesus with our friends. We may not be able to answer all their questions…but we can speak of what Jesus has done for us! So…keep sharing, keep inviting, keep loving!
