No doubt about it, Easter in the Stadium was ridiculously amazing! However, don’t underestimate the power and importance of this coming weekend.

If you call Community home, then know this:

  • THIS weekend, people will be coming to see if those amazing people who made them feel so welcome are the real deal!
  • THIS weekend, people will be expecting the same kind of acceptance and love.
  • THIS weekend, people will be hoping to sense the same kind of encouragement.
  • THIS weekend, people will be bringing even more friends…because they think they’ve found something special.

All that to say, THIS WEEKEND is a BIG DEAL!

Come early and welcome people. Help them find where to check in their kids. Help them find a seat. Lead them to the cafe or to the bathrooms. Show them around. THIS weekend, is going to be awesome!

There’s no way to adequately say THANK YOU to all of you from Community who gave your very best on Easter Sunday in the stadium. Nearly 400 volunteers did an amazing job.

The stadium was rockin’ and God was moving!

Over 4,100 made their way onto the High School property for what would turn out to be one amazing day!

100 people made decisions for Christ and about half of them were at our First Step Dinner on Monday night. (We’ll be doing another First Step Dinner this coming Monday night at 6 pm.)

Sarah Kelly and the band were phenomenal! The Morningstar production team did a great job with the stage/video/sound. It just keeps getting better and better!

I met so many people who came to Community for the very first time. They loved it. And let me just say, they loved it because you people are the real deal!!!

Building Up: What is God Saying?

Read Mark 15:6-15, then answer the following questions:

1-How are we like Barabbas?

2-During the Easter message, Pastor John gave Barabbas’ possible responses to being set free. Which of the first three have you found yourself choosing in the past? (1-Turn yourself back in, 2-Don’t change, 3-Try to earn it.) Where did that option take you or how did it affect you?

3-Discuss all the reasons why the best option, “Humbly Accept it” makes the most sense for us still today.

Read the following verses from the book of Romans (Romans 3:23; 6:23, 5:8; 10:9-10; 6:3-4; 8:1) then answer the following questions:

4-We call these verses, the “Roman Road,” because they show us the road or path to understanding the Good News. Which verse has the most meaning for you personally? Why?

5-Share with your group any questions you have about these verses as they relate to your own salvation. Or…you could talk about how these verses can be helpful to you as you communicate God’s grace to a friend.

 

Living Out: How do I obey?

1-The “day” of Easter may be over for another year, but the purpose and power of Easter still resonates each and every day. How will the reality of Jesus conquering the grave help you THIS WEEK?

2-Celebrate what God did this past Sunday in the stadium and pray for all those who made decisions to follow Jesus. We prayed and prayed before hand, now we need to stop and give thanks!

Easter is a full on celebration party! Jesus isn’t still in a tomb somewhere. HE IS ALIVE!

That miraculous, grave-conquering, death-defeating moment in human history is worth celebrating.

It will be loud. Sarah Kelly and the band are gonna rock the place!

There will be laughter. There might be a whole bunch of people with blue t-shirts that can’t wipe the smile off their faces!

It’s a party. Kids will have fun. There’s over 10,000 Easter Eggs along with massive jumpies that cover the length of a football field.

It’s a celebration. We’re celebrating God’s love. His power. Jesus’ sacrifice. His grace. Our hope…because of Him. It’s all worth celebrating!

This ain’t no funeral. It’s a PARTY!

This Sunday, April 5th in the Hemet High Stadium. The party starts at 9:00am.

We’re offering another First Step Dinner this coming Monday night. Yes, we put this the day after Easter to hopefully connect many of the new people from the Easter service in the Stadium.

However, it’s not just for the very newest, like “Easter was our first day” kinda new. It’s for anyone at Community who’s been coming for a while and hasn’t had the opportunity to be a part of First Step.

Also, if you have a friend who came to Easter for the first time or they’ve been coming a while, get them signed up too! Again, it’s Monday night at 6pm in our worship center.

Keep praying for Sunday. Easter at the Hemet High Stadium is now just a few days away! Remember, we’re asking Jesus to do what ONLY JESUS CAN DO on this special day.

Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen. (Ephesians 3:20-21 NIV)
