There’s only a couple days left in 2014. If you still wanted to make a contribution before the year comes to a close, here are some things you need to know.
1. Make sure we have your current address for the 2014 giving statement.
2. Cash donations must be received in an offering envelope clearly marked with your name.
3. According to IRS regulations, deductions claimed in 2014 for charitable contributions must be either postmarked or in the possession of that charitable organization by December 31, 2014. This means that checks which are placed in the church offering on the first Sunday of 2015 will not qualify for a charitable contribution deduction in 2014, even if the check is predated to 2014 or was actually written in 2014. However, checks that are written, mailed, and postmarked in 2014 will be deductible in 2014 though they may not be received by the church until 2015. If you have any questions please call Dorinda at the office (951-929-2135).
