Still Hungry?

Still Hungry?

Sometimes I find myself eating one meal and planning the next. Do you know what I mean? You’re sitting there having a great lunch, and you’re already thinking about dinner. I guess we know…we’ll be needing more food, and soon.

I love the images in the Bible where God’s Word is likened to food. It’s milk for our nourishment and meat for our strength. Like a deer pants for water, we’re supposed to be anxious for our next thirst-quenching time in His Word.

When we started the commitment to be in our Bible daily, EVERY DAY WITH JESUS, I loved the idea. Maybe, like you, I’ve noticed that every day is not too often. While God’s Word gives me what I need, I’ll always need more. I look forward to my next meal. I wouldn’t want it any other way.

“And he said to me, “Son of man, eat what is before you, eat this scroll; then go and speak to the people of Israel.” So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat. Then he said to me, “Son of man, eat this scroll I am giving you and fill your stomach with it.” So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth.” (Ezekiel 3:1-3 NIV)

By the way, Ezekiel is not just to eat the scroll, he’s supposed to go and tell people about God’s Word. He internalized it, and then he was ready to share it.

Keep eating my friends. Keep eating!
