Are you really free?

Freedom is something we typically misdiagnose. We think freedom means we get to do whatever we want to do, but there’s a serious warning in 2 Peter we can’t afford to miss.

Just for context, Peter is talking about the false teachers who are spreading the lie that we can do whatever we want without consequences. Then he says this:

“They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity—for ‘people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.’” (2 Peter 2:19 NIV)
