Ever have an increasing awareness of something, and now you see it every where? Maybe you’re looking to buy a new car or you get a new jacket…now you notice them all the time. There’s a name for that: The Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon.

A couple of things happen when The Baader-Meinhof Phenomenon kicks in. One, your brain is now excited about the fact that you’ve learned something new, and selective attention occurs. So now that you’re looking for it, you find it. To make it all the more powerful, confirmation bias occurs after seeing it even once or twice. And now you be like, “DUDE! I keep seeing it everywhere!!”

Now think of the importance of reading your Bible every day as you follow through on your Every Day with Jesus commitment. As you read and pray and simply spend time with Him you become more aware of His presence throughout your day. You begin to spot Him everywhere.

In a crowd or all by yourself, now your mind (and heart) is tuned in to look for Him. And trust me, you’ll see Him all the time!
