Beauty for Ashes
Over 3,000,000 acres in the West have been burned through all of these crazy fires. That’s a lot of damage and I hope you’ll join me in praying for those that have been affected.
We see the smoke in the skies everyday to remind us of what’s going on. The amazing thing is, a friend in Minnesota told me this week that their sunsets are being affected (quite beautifully) because they’re getting some of the smoke and dust from all of the fire activity in the Western United States. Minnesota!
There is beauty, even in the midst of the damage. Maybe that can be a reminder for us, that even when life hurts the most, God can bring beauty out of the ashes!
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, for the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor. He has sent me to comfort the brokenhearted and to proclaim that captives will be released and prisoners will be freed.
He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies.
To all who mourn in Israel, he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. In their righteousness, they will be like great oaks that the Lord has planted for his own glory.” (Isaiah 61:1-3 NLT)
