The events of this past week in our Nation’s Capitol have left me feeling a bit discouraged. I’ve watched now for months as those who take peaceful protest to a very violent and destructive end simply serve to embarrass us as a nation. People from all sides and all ideologies have turned to hate as the answer. And yet…when is it ever right for us followers of Jesus to HATE? Never!
Jesus said the PEACEMAKERS are those who will be blessed. So, I want to encourage you to keep praying, keep loving, keep sharing the love of Jesus with EVERYONE you meet.
While you’re doing that…don’t stress about all the other stuff. Here’s why…
“Don’t worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. For like grass, they soon fade away. Like spring flowers, they soon wither.
Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper. Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desires.
Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. He will make your innocence radiate like the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.
Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don’t worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes.” (Psalm 37:1-7 NLT)
