Ground Zero
2000 years ago, the Church was launched. At first they didn’t have their own buildings, that would come later. Walking the streets of Jerusalem was a constant reminder that it all started here.
Each place we walked, explored and learned about just added to my love for the Church, and of our Lord.
In reality, we all have our Ground Zero where Jesus got ahold of our lives. Maybe it was in your home growing up. For many it was the relationship with a dear friend that invited you and convinced you to just “give it a try.” For some it was at a camp or retreat where you said, “YES” to Jesus. Wherever it was, don’t forget those roots. More than that, continue to help someone else get their journey started.
Their Ground Zero might be your work place, neighborhood or school. It all started in Jerusalem, but now, to the “ends of the earth,” we continue to be His witnesses.
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” (Acts 1:8 NIV)
