Guardrails

Guardrails

As we drive through the mountains surrounding our valley, we often see guardrails lining the sharp corners on a winding road. I’ve got to be honest, I’m not at all offended by those guardrails. I’m grateful for them.

When God says “no”, and puts up some guardrails, He does it for one of two reasons. First, He wants to PROTECT us. He says no in order to keep us from bringing unneeded pain into our lives.

The other reason is just as clear. He wants to PROVIDE for us a better way. Following His direction provides us the greatest opportunity for true fulfillment in life.

“Take me by the hand; Lead me down the path of truth. You are my Savior, aren’t you?” (Psalm 25:5 MSG)

Instead of being upset that God might be cramping your style, take a moment and say thank you to your Father who loves you enough to warn you of danger ahead.
