It’s Not That Difficult!

It’s Not That Difficult!

It’s good to unplug from time to time. Last week, Michelle and I were able to be at the beach for a few days. While I got work done while I was there, I also had time to be quiet and reflect.

When we turn off the TV or the radio, stay off the computer or our phone, the silence can help bring us back to the important things.

The Bible is packed with core issues we can’t afford to get pushed back to the end of the line in all that’s going on in our mind. I read every day, but sometimes the simplicity of God’s Word jumps out and grabs ahold of me. It’s just not as hard as we make it out to be sometimes. Watch how these words slice into our everyday existence and bring us back to a more pure way to approach life and others.

“Love from the center of who you are; don’t fake it. Run for dear life from evil; hold on for dear life to good. Be good friends who love deeply; practice playing second fiddle.
Don’t burn out; keep yourselves fueled and aflame. Be alert servants of the Master, cheerfully expectant. Don’t quit in hard times; pray all the harder. Help needy Christians; be inventive in hospitality.
Bless your enemies; no cursing under your breath. Laugh with your happy friends when they’re happy; share tears when they’re down. Get along with each other; don’t be stuck-up. Make friends with nobodies; don’t be the great somebody.
Don’t hit back; discover beauty in everyone. If you’ve got it in you, get along with everybody. Don’t insist on getting even; that’s not for you to do. “I’ll do the judging,” says God. “I’ll take care of it.” (Romans 12:9-19 MSG)
