Knowing God…Part 1
We’ve just spent 5 blogs discussing how what God knows about us. So, I thought we could spend a few days looking at what we know about God.
Perhaps more than any other image God gives us to better know Him, He explains His love through the eyes of a Father.
I love this passage as it reveals a loving God who understands our weakness, and yet is unwavering in His love. Notice too, this promise is for those who opt into the relationship and want to be His child. Fortunately, we have the opportunity for this special relationship because of the sin-forgiving, loving sacrifice of Jesus on the cross.
“The Lord is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. For he knows how weak we are; he remembers we are only dust. Our days on earth are like grass; like wildflowers, we bloom and die. The wind blows, and we are gone—as though we had never been here. But the love of the Lord remains forever with those who fear him. His salvation extends to the children’s children of those who are faithful to his covenant, of those who obey his commandments!” (Psalm 103:13-18 NLT)
