Let it shine!
When we come together on the weekend, there are a lot of lights that help create the atmosphere in which we sing, pray, learn and simply worship. Those lights can also be a reminder that we are the ones who are to shine brightly throughout the week. It’s not about bringing attention to ourselves, but to somehow reflect HIS light and point the way to Jesus.
Today is my mom’s birthday. She has always been a shinning example of grace and compassion. I’ve been truly blessed with great parents and so appreciate the relationship we still have to this day.
Thanks mom, for being the kind of person that SHINES for Jesus!
“Here’s another way to put it: You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept. We’re going public with this, as public as a city on a hill. If I make you light-bearers, you don’t think I’m going to hide you under a bucket, do you? I’m putting you on a light stand. Now that I’ve put you there on a hilltop, on a light stand—shine! Keep open house; be generous with your lives. By opening up to others, you’ll prompt people to open up with God, this generous Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16 MSG)
