Building Up: What is God Saying?

Read 1 Kings 17:7-16. Then answer the following questions:

1- Here’s another story of God’s miraculous provision. God sent Elijah to a widow outside of Israel. Why might God send him there instead of to where Elijah might have expected?

2- How were Elijah’s words, “Don’t be afraid,” a key to this miracle? What do you fear when it comes to your needs? How can you learn to not be afraid?

3- “But first…then.” How do those words help you understand what it really means to trust God? What are some ways we can trust Him to provide that have nothing to do with money? How does this story help me trust Him more when it does come to money?

4- What are the key elements of this story as it relates to our lives?

Read Luke 12:15-21. Then answer the following questions:

1- What does this guy do that is wise?

2- What does this guy do that is foolish?

Living Out: How do I obey?

1- What scares you or excites you about tithing? What are the personal benefits for putting God FIRST in this way?

2 – Be “INTENTIONAL” about your service project. Get some ideas and set a day/time on your calendars to go make a difference.
