Love is in the air

This coming weekend at Community we wrap up our series: “BETTER…Because Normal Isn’t Working”. In essence, we’re wrapping up a series, but launching something real special.

We’ll all be making a two-year commitment to go ALL IN. The commitments that we make this weekend will be used by God to change our lives, but it’s much more than that. He’ll be using our commitments to bring about change all around us. 

We long to hear the words, “I LOVE YOU,” but even more, we need to see that love in action. So does our Valley.

As we make commitments to God that express our love and allegiance to Him this weekend, our prayer is that we begin a ripple-effect of change that starts in our lives but quickly begins to affect the lives of those all around us.

With these commitments, we’re also going to be “putting our money where our mouth is.” Our offering this weekend symbolizes our new commitments. While some may be renewing a pledge to put God first in a financial way, others may be doing this for the first time. So, in a real way, this is our “first-fruits” offering. We’ll all bring our first and our best as we say in a tangible way…God is going to be first in our lives.

Why do we give, sacrifice, commit and follow through? It’s simple really: LOVE! At least, that’s why God does it.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. ” (John 3:16 NIV)
