Oceans, Pirates and Love
Hanging out in San Clemente is always one of our annual highlights. The ocean rejuvenates me. The time on the beach refreshes and recalibrates my soul. This year has been no exception!
Here’s some seriously picturesque wording in Psalm 18 that tends to resurface when i spend time staring at the beauty God has created. Typically the ocean is a beautiful thing, but sometimes it can symbolize the overwhelming feelings of when life is just too much for us. Check this one out…
“But me he caught—reached all the way from sky to sea; he pulled me out of that ocean of hate, that enemy chaos, the void in which I was drowning. They hit me when I was down, but God stuck by me. He stood me up on a wide-open field; I stood there saved—surprised to be loved!” (Psalm 18:16 MSG)
That kind of love is worth investigating…everyday of our lives. Thank you God!
The ocean also reminds me that we start our “AT THE MOVIES” series this weekend. We start in the “ocean” as we’ll be digging some Biblical truths out of the hollywood blockbuster, “Pirates of the Caribbean.”
Please don’t forget, none of our “AT THE MOVIES” series will be available online. If you miss it…YOU MISS IT! So get here and bring all your friends.
