While California’s surge of more Covid-19 cases leads to more shutdowns, the church is just one in a long list of those affected. How we react, and continue to respond to these changes, can speak volumes to those watching us!
I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again… I do not think this is an attack on the church. Many businesses are affected and we should do everything we can to help and encourage all who are having to make difficult choices.
At Community, we have never “closed”. For two and a half months we were fully online. After opening our facilities back up Memorial Day weekend, we have continued to help more than 70% of our people stay connected online since, for a number of reasons, they have been unable to join us physically.
Now, with tightening restrictions on meeting inside, we’re taking our services outside. Thursday night at 6:30pm and Sunday morning at 9:00am we will be meeting outside at the Children’s Center patio area. This was built with special gatherings in mind, and now we get to try it out for our worship experiences!
Please let the following verses encourage you to take advantage of the opportunities all around us. For those that are worried, give them hope. For those that are lonely, connect with them. For those that are struggling, be their friend.
“So be careful how you live. Don’t live like fools, but like those who are wise. Make the most of every opportunity in these evil days. Don’t act thoughtlessly, but understand what the Lord wants you to do.” (Ephesians 5:15-17 NLT)
