Reflect and Renew
As the sun sets on 2017 and a New Year begins, I’m hoping you’ve taken some time to reflect on all that happened during the past 12 months. The good, the bad and the ugly are most likely now in our review mirror.
As people begin to look ahead it’s not unusual to consider what we’d like to see as BETTER in 2018. Here are the top resolutions:
- Enjoy life to the fullest (45.7%)
- Live a healthier lifestyle (41.1%)
- Lose weight (39.6%)
- Spend more time with family and friends (33.2%)
- Save more, spend less (30.1%)
- Pay down debt (27.5%)
I’d like to suggest one that never shows up on these lists. However, if you really want your life to change…this is where you and I must start.
CONNECT WITH JESUS like never before!
I hope you can loose some weight, spend more time with family/friends, exercise more and pay down that debt. But, if there’s ONE thing we can all do that would change more than just our life…it’s found in HIM!
Here are Jesus’ words…
“Live in me. Make your home in me just as I do in you. In the same way that a branch can’t bear grapes by itself but only by being joined to the vine, you can’t bear fruit unless you are joined with me. I am the Vine, you are the branches. When you’re joined with me and I with you, the relation intimate and organic, the harvest is sure to be abundant. Separated, you can’t produce a thing. Anyone who separates from me is deadwood, gathered up and thrown on the bonfire. But if you make yourselves at home with me and my words are at home in you, you can be sure that whatever you ask will be listened to and acted upon. This is how my Father shows who he is—when you produce grapes, when you mature as my disciples.” (John 15:4-8 MSG)
