SQUIRREL!

SQUIRREL!

Is anyone else out there easily distracted? There are plenty of times when even the smallest of distractions is enough to get me completely off track. In fact, life is filled with distractions. So, how do we stay on track? How do we stay focused on what’s truly important?

The Apostle Paul has something of value to add to this discussion:

“If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. ” (Colossians 3:1-3 ESV)

“Set your minds…!” It’s all about being intentional about what we focus on. So, here are 4 quick things to help you focus on Jesus, and the “things above”:

  1. Set an appointment on your calendar everyday to read your Bible and pray. #EveryDayWithJesus
  2. Pull one verse out of your reading that you’ll meditate on throughout the day. Put it on a little notecard and take it with you.
  3. Set an alarm to remind you to pray for someone who doesn’t know Jesus yet. Have it go off the same time every day; like 1:11pm.
  4. Tell someone else what your verse of the day is. It could be your wife/husband, kids, friend, LifeGroup accountability partner… Just tell someone!
