With a New Year comes a new journey through my Bible. I use a plan on the bible.com app called the “LIFE JOURNAL READING PLAN.” This plan takes me through the the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice throughout the year.
I’ve been doing this plan for years, but it never gets old. I switch up the version from time to time, but never get tired of hearing from my Creator!
Every time I see things I’ve highlighted in the past and find new gems.
This week I was again encouraged by the simplicity and power of Abram’s faith. (Later God would change his name to Abraham.) He didn’t “earn” anything with his works, they were just an expression of his resolute faith in God. He just believed God, and everything flowed from there.
“And Abram believed the Lord, and the Lord counted him as righteous because of his faith.” (Genesis 15:6 NLT)
If you’re starting over, or just starting…grab your Bible and dive in. If you don’t know where to start, I’d suggest doing a chapter a day in the Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John). Use those moments each day getting to know Jesus!
