SURRENDER

Surrender

This past weekend God was moving. It was evident by the tears of joy, the extra long hugs and the prayers that were going on with each other on the plaza. Many were touched and openly chose to surrender fully to His leadership. And…we’re just getting started!

“Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:3 NIV)

To be “poor in spirit” we need to come to grips with the fact that we are DEAD in our sin, but because of God’s amazing gift, His amazing grace, we can have LIFE after all!

The key to accepting this amazing gift is not working hard enough to earn it. We can’t “earn it”. That’s why it’s called a gift. No, the key is SURRENDER!

God’s not looking for superstars and freakishly talented people. He’s looking for anyone who is ready to follow Him with everything they’ve got.

“I made all this! I own all this!” God’s Decree. “But there is something I’m looking for: a person simple and plain, reverently responsive to what I say.” (Isaiah 66:2 MSG)

If you’re still trying to get His attention with your “goodness” or “effort”, stop it. He already loves you. You’re already on His radar. He just wants you to surrender. Then, you can be a part of something so powerful, so transformative, you’ll never want to go back.

Happy are those who know they can’t do it on their own…they get to be a part of the Kingdom of God!
