Times of Refreshing
Nothing says “refreshing” on a 100+ degree day like water!
This past weekend we looked at another beatitude. This time it was about mourning. Yes, we mourn and grieve when we lose a loved one, but there is another kind of mourning God is looking for in our hearts.
When we mourn our sin, recognizing it separates us from God, we can begin the journey back to Him. Repenting is the first step. Next, we get to experience something really special…
“Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord, and that he may send the Messiah, who has been appointed for you—even Jesus. ” (Acts 3:19-20 NIV)
I’ve talked to people who shy away from God, distance themselves from the church and separate themselves from those who could help them…all as a result of their sin. Instead, turn around and run back to Him. You’ll find Him with arms wide open!
