Volunteering at Easter got me like…
Roll up your sleeves and change some lives! That’s the beauty, fun and excitement of serving at the Easter event this Sunday, April 1, in the stadium. Here’s a few things for all of you who’ve signed up to help (and those who’d like to help, but never signed up):
1-Be at the stadium at 7am sharp. While the “experience” doesn’t start until 9am, we have a lot to do before all of our guest arrive. Go to the big canopy to check in. They’ll let you know where your team is assembling for last minutes details and prayer.
2-Prepare for the weather. Bring a hat, sunscreen and dress in layers. It will be cool at 7am, but will probably get warm as the sun breaks through the clouds. Also, please dress modestly. We’ll have water for everyone on site.
3-Pray before you arrive and pray throughout the entire experience. So many people will be connecting with Jesus for the first time and much is on the line for each of them.
4-Keep your eyes open. It may not be your “job”, but a need may arise and you’ll be able to quickly move to help someone out if you’re paying attention. Go for it! Help!!
“Be generous with the different things God gave you, passing them around so all get in on it: if words, let it be God’s words; if help, let it be God’s hearty help. That way, God’s bright presence will be evident in everything through Jesus, and he’ll get all the credit as the One mighty in everything—encores to the end of time. Oh, yes!” (1 Peter 4:10-11 MSG)
