What’s your answer?

While in the area of Caesarea Philippi, we came to an area that was once was the Temple of Pan. This place was where horrific child sacrifices were done regularly. Our guide explained what would happen on the rocks we walked on, and it was enough to turn your stomach.

However, it is also the place that Jesus would one day be talking with His disciples when this conversation happened:

“Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” And they said, “Some say John the Baptist, others say Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter replied, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”” (Matthew 16:13-16 ESV)

This question is the most important question we’ll ever answer. Peter got it right, but what about us…“Who do yo say Jesus is?”

Your answer, and mine, determines the total trajectory of our lives. I want this season, this Christmas, to be a time when we all have laser-like focus on who Jesus really is. When that is clear, we are reminded how much the people around us need Him!

Who are you inviting this Christmas?
