Friends

There are all kinds of ways our paths can cross with others. Some make a connection that lasts. Jay, in the photo, is another photographer I met a few years ago. We’ve stayed in contact and sometimes meet up to shoot together.

While we’ve got our cameras in hand, there are times when there’s more talking than shooting. Jay is extremely talented, but I think the reason we clicked and have become friends in not just a shared passion for photography, but a common love for our Lord.

We live in different cities, but have stayed connected…and I for one am glad we have.

Who do you need to reach out to this week and let them know how much you appreciate your friendship?

Humility and…

If you joined us this weekend for the start of our series The Love Bank, you know that humility is a key in any relationship.

Our relational homework this week is summed up in one word. LISTEN.

Now, to do this right, we need to ask good questions and then be quiet. This week, let’s show the ones we love  just how much we love them by listening.

Your humility will help you hear what you need to hear…not just what you want to hear. Then, we can move to action in making more “deposits” this week.

Generous with kindness

As we begin our new series, The Love Bank, this weekend at Community, I want to encourage you to take seriously the relational homework we’ll be giving you each week. We all want to do better at making significant DEPOSITS in our relational love banks, so here’s a start. In fact, this will be our homework from the remainder of our lives!!

Let’s all be generous with our words…that are healing and helpful. When people see you coming, they should know encouragement is on the way!

A Line in the Sand

This past weekend at Community we wrapped up our series: The Epic Life. Now, however, the journey really begins!

Many of you chose, like drawing a line in the sand, to say…from now on, things are going to be different. We gave you a challenge, and you’re stepping up!!

It shakes the desert

With His Word, God created the heavens and the earth. With His Word He made us in order to have a relationship with us.

His voice continues to have an impact. God is large and in charge.

Whatever you’re going through right now, remember He is bigger! Read these verses and take comfort in His power.

“The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord thunders over the mighty waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is majestic.

The voice of the Lord breaks the cedars; the Lord breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon. He makes Lebanon leap like a calf, Sirion like a young wild ox. The voice of the Lord strikes with flashes of lightning.
