Will you Join Me?

Starting tomorrow, on 60 Seconds with PJ, I’ll be walking through these special verses in 1 Corinthians 13. We call it the “love chapter”.

I like reading it through several versions/translations. Here are these great verses in the New Living Translation to get you started.

“Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance.”  (1 Corinthians 13:4-7 NLT)

Have you had enough?

When Jesus feeds the 5,000 men (plus women and children), they not only had their fill…there were leftovers.

This seems to be a pretty cool picture of how God works. This past weekend we looked at this story through the experience of the little boy who shared his lunch. Jesus then took that lunch and fed thousands!

Our big question was: WHAT’S IN YOUR HANDS?

Have you been thinking about this? What do you have that possibly could make a difference for others? Don’t be afraid to share it. Step into this knowing God will take what you do and then bless and multiply it!

“When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, ‘Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted.’ So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.”  (John 6:12-13 NIV)

How would you like this?

God’s Word gives you and I clear direction for each and every day of our lives. Today, in my attempt to spend “Every Day WIth Jesus”, I came across these verses. May they encourage and challenge us all to live lives that fully honor our Lord.

“Since God chose you to be the holy people he loves, you must clothe yourselves with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. Make allowance for each other’s faults, and forgive anyone who offends you. Remember, the Lord forgave you, so you must forgive others. Above all, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in perfect harmony. And let the peace that comes from Christ rule in your hearts. For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful.”  (Colossians 3:12-15 NLT)

Can you believe this?

Recently I was able to spend a little time in Arizona. I was able to ride my mountain bike and grab some photos and shoot some video. I was also able to get some other work done since it was 1,000 degrees in the afternoons! It was short, but a great trip.

The primary purpose of this trip was to head back to Antelope Canyon, just outside of Page, AZ. This place is amazing! Seriously, can you believe this?

I walked away from our photo tour again reminded of how amazing our God is. What variety, diversity and beauty!

These particular slot canyons are famous for their flash floods in monsoon season. Water and debris come ripping through here making its mark and carving out even more interesting designs.

When you find yourself in a torrential downpour…just know it can shape you as well. Make sure you’re clinging to the One who can truly help you through it all.

“I waited patiently for the Lord to help me, and he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out of the mud and the mire. He set my feet on solid ground and steadied me as I walked along.

He has given me a new song to sing, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see what he has done and be amazed. They will put their trust in the Lord.”  (Psalm 40:1-3 NLT)

Isn’t she lovely?

I had the old Stevie Wonder song in my head as I began to write today’s blog. I know he’s talking about the birth of their daughter, but I was just thinking about my wife.

Michelle has a birthday tomorrow!!!

There is so much I could say about her, but I’ll let these words from Proverbs 31 do it for me. Happy Birthday baby!!
