REST

In the midst of Summer, it’s a popular time for vacations. When you are on a vacation you might have a mixture of adventure and relaxing. You may have never thought of it this way, but BOTH are needed for true rest.

I recently heard a message from Keri Ladouceur as she talked about the importance of rest. She used the following acronym to bring home the big picture regarding R.E.S.T. I know you don’t have the whole context, but see if you can fit these into your next vacation or break.

Trust

“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”  (Matthew 11:28-30 ESV)
