Introducing your Top Five to Jesus

Introducing your Top Five to Jesus

So know you’ve prayed for and invested in those that matter so much to you. We can’t stop doing either one of those things, but let’s now add the critical piece of introducing your friends and family member who do not know Him, to Jesus.

For many, this is the most awkward part of our plan. However, it doesn’t have to me. Let me give you to basic and yet very genuine ways of introducing your friends to meet Jesus.

The first is the simple “come and see” approach. This is where we know they may have questions we can’t answer adequately, but we can introduce them to some great people who can help us introduce our friends to Jesus.

“Come and see” is as simple as, “Hey, would you be willing to come to church with me this weekend?” If they seem interested, without feeling pushing suggest picking them up or meeting them at the cafe (or another specific place on campus). Please know, it can be very scary for someone to walk on to a church property if they’re not used to it.

The second approach is similar but may an easier first step for some. It’s like the come and see, but more of a come and do this with me approach. Maybe your LifeGroup is doing a service project and your friend might enjoy being a part of something positive.

Perhaps there is a church event (not a typical worship service) that might be less threatening. Bringing a friend to a Pop-Up Market, or anything non-churchy on the church property helps make them feel more comfortable while meeting some of your church friends. Now, when the possibility of going to a worship service comes up, they may not be so overwhelmed.

I’m praying for you as you pray, invest and invite your friends and family members!

“Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.”  (Colossians 4:5-6 NLT)
