Be more like a Buffalo

Be more like a Buffalo

The buffalo or (bison) image is from a friend: Paul Colley, of Lone Prairie Photography.

“The buffaloes on the western plains have a different way of dealing with storms. They don’t run from the storm, THEY CHARGE THE STORM, because the faster they run into the storm the faster they emerge on the other side of the storm!”

I first saw that quote about a year ago…and I keep going back to it. There are several lessons God has taught us over the course of the past 12 months. Let me explain the context of one of them.

When the lockdown began over a year ago and everyone was simply guessing about how long this thing could take, some people ran and hid…hoping to outlast the storm. Others, however, headed straight into it trying to follow God’s lead with each and every step. Sometimes unsure of the specific situation, but always sure of the Guide, they moved ahead in obedience seeing how they could not only see Him in the craziness, but also point others in His direction.

Covid or not, we’re called to obey TODAY. We rarely have access to the whole plan. So, uncertain or not of our surroundings, let’s continue to do what God is calling us to do TODAY! Let’s CHARGE!!

“Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.” (Colossians 4:5-6 NLT)
