Work hard because…

Work hard because…

While, “God helps those who help themselves,” is NOT in the Bible, there is plenty in there about not being idle or lazy. In fact, the Bible often encourages us to do something productive so that we can not only take care of our family, but also to have something to share with those who are not able to care from themselves.

Additionally, there’s one more powerful reason why we are to be productive. When we carry our own weight with integrity and faithfulness, we gain the respect of those who we work with or live near.

A good work ethic is not just a good idea, it’s a part of our witness.

“Make it your goal to live a quiet life, minding your own business and working with your hands, just as we instructed you before. Then people who are not believers will respect the way you live, and you will not need to depend on others.” (1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 NLT)
