21 Days of Prayer…Day 14
“This little light of mine. I’m gonna let it shine.” Do you remember that children’s song? It comes straight from Scripture…straight from Jesus’ words in Matthew 5.
Today I want you to consider the ways you can bring God’s light into the darkness of our world. Our kindness, love, generosity and good deeds all can be expressions of God’s light reflected in/through our lives.
Prayer Prompt: Father, show me specific ways today (and every day) where I can shine for you. Remove from me the sin and habits that put a blanket over your light. Thank you for going with me throughout my day. By your Spirit, make me aware of the exact moments where I can shine for you. Prompt me, lead me, speak to me. I want to be working for your purposes today.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16 NIV)
