Are you like this?
On my “60 Seconds with PJ” on Facebook and Instagram I’ve been working our way through Philippians. This week, going through chapter 2 I wasn’t able to get to a very special passage, so I’m hitting it here today.
Paul mentions Timothy, who we know was a vital part of Paul’s team in his mission work. He not only mentions him, though, he praises him and encourages people to be more like Timothy.
“I have no one else like him!” That’s high praise to start with, but then Paul explains why. He’s an OTHERS person. His heart is first for Jesus, and his eyes are on the needs of others. I love this description. Read these verses and then figure out how you can be more like Timothy today.
“I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, that I also may be cheered when I receive news about you. I have no one else like him, who will show genuine concern for your welfare. For everyone looks out for their own interests, not those of Jesus Christ.” (Philippians 2:19-21 NIV)
