Can you find the Fantastic in the Familiar?
It happens every year…year after year. We hear the same ole story. We’re so familiar with it, we can casually acknowledge how special it is, and yet not let it truly impact us.
Here’s a couple of things we all can do to make sure we don’t blow through this Christmas season without it touching our souls.
1-Read the Christmas story again with fresh eyes. Read it every day this week. Read Luke 2:1-20 in a translation that’s not so familiar. May I suggest The Message?
2-Pray for someone who needs to hear and receive the Good News. Invite them to join you at one of our Christmas services.
3-Create a Christmas List. This is not for gifts you want to receive, but for the gifts God has been giving you throughout the year. Even if this has been a difficult year, look for God at work. Thank Him!
Our Christmas Services are Sunday at 3 & 5pm, Monday at 3 & 5pm and Tuesday (Christmas Eve) at 1 & 3 & 5pm.
“Mary kept all these things to herself, holding them dear, deep within herself. The shepherds returned and let loose, glorifying and praising God for everything they had heard and seen. It turned out exactly the way they’d been told!” (Luke 2:19-20 MSG)
