This was the most emotional farewell we’ve experienced in Area 2. Many tears were shed. As much as I can’t wait to see my family, including my Community family, these people feel like family too.

Those of you who regularly go to our orphanage in Mexico, I’m sure you feel the same way. Relationships are established and then grow over the years. These people are amazing. I’m blown away by what they do day in and day out in these horrendous conditions. We work hard and laugh a lot together during our time in the Mathre Valley.

Your team from Community did an amazing job. A huge thank you to Brian, Carly, JoAnne, Joni, Michelle and Mikel. You should be proud of each one of them! The seven of us did the work of 15. I hope you all know how much we appreciate your support and prayers. While there were just a few of us here in Kenya, this was a whole church effort. We represented all of Community in this special place.

The staff at Area 2 hit it out of the park every time we’re here. These are truly special people who have, as stated earlier, really touch out hearts.

The children, at last days count of 475, blew us away again this trip. We come to bless them…but we are the ones blessed over and over again. Over 150 of these children are sponsored by people at Community. Again, this is a TEAM effort.

We had several interested in this trip, but were unable to make it. Let me tell you now: Our goal for the next trip here is 30 people. The school will probably be around 750 children by then and we will NEED all 30. So start praying now. I’ll explain more this weekend.

I can’t wait to see you all this weekend. If there’s no problem with our flights, I’ll see you Saturday night and Sunday!!!
