Do you agree?
There are multiple times in the New Testament where we are encouraged and challenged to be united. It all starts with Jesus’ prayer in John 17 that we be ONE.
It’s possible to disagree on some things, and yet be completely united. Did you know that? Churches like ours from the Christian Church movement have said for years:
“In essentials unity, in non-essentials liberty and in all things love.”
Essentials starts with Jesus. We agree He is King. We agree He is The Way, The Truth and The Life.
We may not agree on which songs to use during worship, or what service times are the best…but we agree on Jesus!
Our unity becomes a force of change and love for the world around us.
“Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and compassionate? Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one mind and purpose.” (Philippians 2:1-2 NLT)
